Rated third in the world by Golf Digest Magazine, Royal Portrush is renowned for its superb turf, great playing qualities and magnificent setting on the spectacular Antrim Coast. This course is a must-play stopover for many professionals eager to experience one of the toughest golf challenges there is and has previously been host to the British Open.
Like a bit of history with your golf? To say Royal Portrush is steeped in heritage is an understatement. The course is overlooked by the dramatic ruins of 13th Century Dunluce Castle perched precariously on an isolated crag jutting from the sea. The famous links course itself has quite a colourful history, and can boast more than a few firsts. Founded in 1888, King Edward VII became patron and granted the course Royal status in 1893.
